Hamster wheel too small....?
So I have a female Syrian hamster who's quite big.. About 6 and half inches, possibly 7. I got this silent spinner wheel, but she grew and her back is touching the knob in the middle, but she arches her back. And she keeps her head up.. I've went to all the petstores in my area, and it's either the wheel is way too small or so big it won't even fit in the cage.. And it's the silent spinner type... I want hang the new wheel on the cage, as it takes up less space.. What wheel do you recommend? It would be great if it was like the silent spinner model.! Mannnnyy thhannnkks !!
Maybe it's time for a bigger cage.
I love it, it's easy to clean and it's plastic so it doesn't hurt his feet. Also, it's got two holes on the back of the wheel (not the part the hamster runs on) so if you have a rambunctious hamster who might knock it over and get caught under it, he won't suffocate.
The only problem is that it rattles (not squeaks, rattles) when my hamster runs really fast. But I have it on the stand, but if you have it attached to the wall then it probably won't be a problem.
