Steering Wheel turns by itself - Steering Wheels

i hit a log in the road and now my steering wheel turns by itself!! ?

it only turns when im moving. please help.
it hit the left wheel and now the steering wheel turns about 70 degrees to the left.

You've bent something that's affecting your caster. This is the alignment angle that causes your steering wheel to "return" to center. Odds are your pushed the lower part of the suspension back a bit causing a decrease in caster on that side.

Although a change in camber can cause this too, it usually is a result of a side impact to the wheel. You may have both problems.

In either case you've bent something (probably a lower control arm and/or steering knuckle) so don't be surprised if a alignment shop tells you this, or outright can't do the alignment before the parts are replaced.

A quick look can tell you this; If the top of the wheel looks like it's tilting too far in or out compared to the other wheels your camber is out. If the back of your wheel looks too close to the back of the wheel well compared to the others, your caster is out.

Although a few cars allow adjustments to camber and caster most newer cars today don't.

You need an alignment at the least. They will do a complete front-end and suspension inspection to determine what may have been damaged and needs replacing. Go soon, to a qualified alignment shop or the dealer, your car may be unsafe at any speed faster than stopped. At the very least, you will wear out your tires like crazy, at the worst, something will give and you will crash.

you fukd up your alignment

Steering wheel turns to the right by itself ?

I have a Chevy Tahoe Limited. All of a sudden about a week ago. My car turns to the right hard when I let go of the wheel. I can still drive it I just have to overcompensate. It also hard to make a left turn. I can make them but its hard. I took into the shop and they said I need a new steering box. What a reasonable price for a steering box? Or if you think its something else let me know. Thanks in advance.
Tire wear is bad on the right side. I was quoted $1200 I thought that was pretty high I just want to get a better idea how much it should cost. Thanks everyone.

Yeah that's definitely the steering that's broken in some way. I don't know how much it would cost to repair it but thats what it is.

2013 Lexus GS350 F Sport - Official Photos and Info

When the standard GS350 debuted at Pebble Beach , we reported that a GS350 F Sport version would bow at the SEMA show in Las Vegas. This has now come to pass. F Sport, of course, indicates this car’s sporty intentions; the letter F is similarly applied to the LFA supercar and the rowdy IS F sports sedan. The new GS model sets itself apart from the regular GS350 with unique fascias and spoilers, plus a set of 19-inch wheels that will be staggered to accommodate fatter rubber out back (at least on rear-drive models).

Those who might have hoped the F Sport badge would mean more muscle from the GS’s 3.5-liter V-6 will be disappointed. The direct-injected engine makes the same 306 hp as the regular car, and Lexus claims it can power both versions to 60 mph in 5.7 seconds. The F Sport conversion does bring significant chassis tweaks, though, including thicker anti-roll bars, firmer bushings, and an F Sport adaptive variable suspension system, along with larger front brake rotors and more aggressive brake pads. Rear-wheel drive is standard, while all-wheel drive is available.
