I keep putting the steering wheel straight but it just goes to the left just a little bit. Does it take time to straighten it out?

When we park our car, does it damage it in any way if we are not align our wheel straight going in but instead either to the left or right? I noticed I always park like this, and never bother to fix it like most people, so was just wondering.
