Steering Wheel Misaligned After Hitting Tree?

I have a 01 subaru outback and I was off-roading, and due to the nature of the trail I ended up clipping a tree. It did hardy any damage, essentially just scruffing the bumper a little--but as I swerved to the right to avoid the tree, the tree hit my tire. (Which was protruding because I had cut the wheel to the right sharply). After I got off the trail and onto the highway I noticed that while tracking straight the steering wheel was 10 or 15 degrees offset to the right. What could have caused this? I checked my tie rods, and they seem fine. There is no wobble or vibration even at speeds of up to 80 mph. What is going on here!? Any ideas!???

Its quite likely something is bent. It might be worth your while to have someone put it in the air and inspect your car. An alignment check would also be wise.

Likely you knocked the ball joint loose or tie rod end. Take the car into an alignment shop they can get the wheel straight for you again. It not always easy to do by the naked eye.

parallel parking: how do i know when I start turning the steering wheel to the left?

seems that's my problem
I either get too close to the car in front of me and almost hitting it
or i end up too far away and misaligned from the curb.
when do i start turning left?

You line your car up to the other one, mirror to mirror, then back up and turn your wheel all the way to whatever side the curb is on. All the way. And when you're close to the curb, turn the wheel all the way to the other side until you are in place.

Hunwick Engineering Ltd- Transporting Reduced Operating Costs

A car transporter manufacturer from Essex is reducing customer's running costs by decreasing tyre wear and fuel costs.

Hunwick Engineering Ltd in Halstead has invested in a Haweka Axis200 wheel aligner with trailer kit to enable them to ensure the alignment on new trailers is accurate before they leave the factory.

The car transporter manufacturer purchased the aligner from Haweka, the UK's main supplier of commercial wheel alignment and wheel balancing accessories, after seeing a demonstration of the equipment in their workshop.

The Axis200 is the leading alignment system in the UK, taking less than 10 minutes to accurately measure every angle on a truck in the as driven position - there is no need to lift the vehicle. The alignment system can be used on twin steer, rigid, semi-trailers and buses.

Martyn Wood, Technical Director at Hunwick's said:"Poor wheel alignment increases tyre drag on the road wasting rubber and increasing fuel use. By aligning the wheels and axles the trailer becomes more streamlined and drives as we intended. The Axis200 was specially adapted for our range of trailers and is used at least three times a week."
