Can I swap an older 4 spoke steering wheel for a newer 3 spoke one on my Vauxhall Corsa?
Both wheels have airbags in them, I have a facelifted '97 corsa, which has the older 4 spoke style steering wheel, I have bought a newer '99 3 spoke wheel with airbag, will the new one fit?
I can confirm new and old steering wheels have single stage airbags
if the old steering wheel didn't have a airbag, dont try to make the new one work, they are dangerous.
however, the new steering wheel will fit.
you need to take the cap off the centre, undo the steering wheel nut, which you will need to buy a new one because they cannot be reused, then the wheel should just come off
the wheels itself will fit on no problem, the only problem i can see if the fact that the wiring that goes to the horn and to the airbag has a multi plug behind the ignititon cowling and theres a slight difference in the plug,
saying that you should be able to remove the horn wiring/airbagwiring from the new wheel and replace it with the parts off the old wheel keep in mind the airbag light will be on and need reset once you have remove the wheel
