Steering Wheel 380mm - Steering Wheels

Mercedes Benz Steering wheel diameter?

Hey does anyone know the outer diameter of the steering wheel on an 05 Mercedes SLK350. I saw a steering wheel cover that I really like ( its very high class ). They have sizes measured in 370 mm and 380mm I have know idea which one if either will fit. I don't have the car yet to measure myself and won't be able to go pick it up until Monday from the dealer. I want to buy one of these covers because they are very nice and they only have 2 left!

Ask the dealer to measure it for you? Covers rarely look good! I prefer to wear gloves. Why?

1 Gloves and the wheel are leather, so there is "co-hesion", the sticking together of like materials...

2 this means I can relax my hands more, which is less tiring on a long drive. A bonus, as I play guitar, and my fingers have a touch of arthritis to them, so I like to protect them and keep them a little warmer than the rest of me...

3 pulling on the gloves focuses my mind before I drive. I know I have better control of the car with gloves on.

4 gloves stop the transfer of skin-grease onto the leather of the steering-wheel, so it stays in better shape.

5 I've seen some really nasty hand injuries when hands are wrenched off the wheel, and slammed into the dashboard in an accident. At least the gloves will have to rip, before my skin does...

6 lastly, I am not going to be able to use my touch-screen phone, while I have gloves on. Back to concentration, and better control.

Please save your Benz the embarrassment of a tacky after-market steering wheel cover! As PPPF says, get a nice pair of driving gloves and do it with class.

Road Test: Gemballa Avalanche GTR EVO-R 750

The Porsche 911 Turbo is one of the most balanced sports cars on our planet. It makes a great platform for tuners around the world to show their potential. One of those companies is Gemballa who released their first Avalanche tuning package in the mid-1980s. Since then, numerous masterpieces have hit the road and showcased the true character of a Gemballa car. The latest package, released in 2009, is the Avalanche GTR EVO-R program offering a range of power outputs up to 800hp.

The base for our test car was the 2010 Porsche 997 Turbo which Gemballa then fitted with a large variety of different aerodynamic, technical and body parts. They also added extensive upgrades to the interior. The black and orange theme may be familiar to some of you. At this year’s Top Marques Monaco we had a first drive in the powerful machine, and by the end, we were begging for more. So we find ourselves here, with a full day in the 750hp, twin-turbocharged sports car experiencing thirty years of Gemballa heritage near Leonberg.
