I have forza 3 and will also be getting GT5 when it's out because I am a racing fanatic, but want to know which steering wheel is better for each console? Personal experience will be greatly appreciated thanks.
The Logitech G25 is the signature steering wheel peripheral for racing games, but its 300$ so you have to decide whether its worth throwing away the thumbsticks.

“Daytona USA is the game that truly defined head-to-head racing for a generation of arcade gamers,” said Haruki Satomi, Vice President of Digital Publishing for SEGA of America. “We have re-created every element of the Daytona experience for the new console version. Having the ability to play the game in online multiplayer turns your living room into the arcades of yesteryear.”
The home version brings a new coat of graphical widescreen gloss to the retro graphics of the original arcade hit, support for the Logitech GT Driving Force steeringwheel controller on PS3 and all Xbox 360-supported steeringwheel controllers.
As well as mirrored tracks a robust online multiplayer mode (though disappointingly no split screen local multiplayer mode) the game also features challenge and survival modes as well as some wonderful quirks such as the slot machine and “Jeffery” statue found in the original game. A karaoke mode is also included so that nostalgic fans can sing along with the background music as they twitch their high powered car down the straights, through the tunnels and around the banked turns of a retro crowd favourite.

This makes it a very rare creature indeed, being the only wheel on the market that is on friendly terms with the PS3, 360 and PC. It uses a wireless connection to communicate to the 360, while a USB cable is used for PC and PS3 use. This focus on 360
