Steering Wheel 280z - Steering Wheels

my 76 datsun 280Z ignition isnt turning?

NOT A COMPLICATED READING I PROMISE. i just got it and have done minor things recently. the car has always started up very nicely. it is a standard manual transmission so if there's a lil trick old manual cars have i obviously don't know but need to. basically the steering wheel is locked and the once the key is in the ignition it won't turn. and i mean that literally as in i cant turn the key at all it just won't even nudge. so if there's something i'm missing or a trick or me being dumb please let me know. thanks so much. fixing up more classic cars is a free time thing i just decided to try so don't preach to me or make me feel dumb please. i work on newer cars every day as a hobby with a buddy of mine.

You need to push the clutch in before the ignition switch will engage on the manual transmission.

Put the key in the ignition and while you are trying to turn the key with your right hand, use your left hand to rock the steering wheel back and forth(like turning left and right).
Hopefully that works.

Still Z right kind of sports car

In the late 1960s, Nissan started production on the original Z car, and has held the record as the best selling sports car series of all time.  The Z cars have always maintained the authority of a highly regarded, performance oriented, versatile, and capable sports car.  Now in its sixth generation, the new 370Z still carries on that tradition and strong reputation.

Upon first glance of the 370Z, it is easy to capture the sculptured, aggressive styling cues that have always graced the Z cars from the past.  The smooth, sexy exterior lines start at the front, wrapping around the boomerang styled HID bi- functional xenon headlamps, and end at the rounded, yet aggressive rear of the roadster.  The stunning 19” RAYS lightweight five spoke, forged wheels are wrapped in Bridgestone Potenza high performance tires, and highlight the wheel well’s smart curve design.   On the roadster, the 370Z offers a sporty stance with the top up or down.  The fabric top is completely automatic with a single action operation with automatic roof lock.  On its way down, the top neatly tucks underneath the steel tonneau cover in just 16 seconds.  Upon entry into the cabin, the signature vertical door handles allow easy access for entry and also feature Nissan’s Intelligent Key feature to grant access through key fob recognition.
