Steering Wheel 2000 ford expedition - Steering Wheels

2000 Ford Expedition question on 4 wheel drive.?

I have noticed that when my 4 wheel drive is on, when I drive straight everything operates cool. Normal turns are okay. Now the problem I am wondering is when I tend to have to make somewhat of sharp turns I feel a lot of restriction in my front tires like the SUV doesn't really want to move much, like I am forcing it to. For instance if I am turning somewhat sharp and give it a little acceleration the vehicle will want to stop immediately. I also can feel it when driving and somewhat in the steering wheel.
Is this Normal, or could their be something going wrong? Otherwise when 4 wheel drive is shut off the SUV drives nicely.

4WD is NOT intended for high traction surfaces - you will break something if you continue to use it on the street.

What you are experiencing is normal. It is also listed under abusing the vehicle, voiding any warranty. It will also cause excessive tire wear.

Ford Expedition! Please help...?

I have a 2000 ford expedition and the pump or box to the steering wheel broke. So all the steering wheel oil drip to the floor. My question is how much would that cost to repair? Does any one know or had the same thing happened to them?

Their are basically 4 places that oil could be leaking from, Pump/pressure hose/return hose/ and steering box. Hoses are the least costly repair (most likelu less than $100, pump (depending on engine size/ 2wd or 4wd/ most likely in the $200-$300 range and the box shoud be around the same

On to Mongolia: Part III

We arrived back at camp to discover that most of the gers (tents) had been dismantled. The ride and the hot weather exhausted me, and I lay down on a stretch of fabric to rest and calm my stomach. I awoke some time later to the sensation of a warm body next to mine. I discovered that the wayward goat, which had become sort of a camp mascot was lying beside me. I hypothesized that, with the locals busily barbecuing one of his kind on the opposite side of the camp, perhaps he sought sanctuary with me. When our late lunch was served, I could not resist trying a bite or two of the goat meat. It was excellent, but I prudently restricted my intake, cursing my bad fortune for being ill on the day of the barbecue.

When Dr. Barishuaa Munkhzog, a professor of biology who serves as the site partner for Earth Expeditions in Mongolia, offered vodka again, I accepted some. Within minutes, I felt much better and was able to devote my renewed vigor to the disassembly and storing of the last two
