2000 Ford Expedition question on 4 wheel drive.?
I have noticed that when my 4 wheel drive is on, when I drive straight everything operates cool. Normal turns are okay. Now the problem I am wondering is when I tend to have to make somewhat of sharp turns I feel a lot of restriction in my front tires like the SUV doesn't really want to move much, like I am forcing it to. For instance if I am turning somewhat sharp and give it a little acceleration the vehicle will want to stop immediately. I also can feel it when driving and somewhat in the steering wheel.
Is this Normal, or could their be something going wrong? Otherwise when 4 wheel drive is shut off the SUV drives nicely.
4WD is NOT intended for high traction surfaces - you will break something if you continue to use it on the street.
What you are experiencing is normal. It is also listed under abusing the vehicle, voiding any warranty. It will also cause excessive tire wear.
