Daytona USA is fondly remembered for a number of reasons. First and foremost, it was a fun racer that hailed from Sega's "golden age." Secondly, it had a gloriously cheesy soundtrack. Both of these reasons to love the game are catered to with today's rerelease of the game on Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network.
Daytona USA for consoles features the game's original retro car and scenery models in 16:9 widescreen at HD resolutions. It also supports the Logitech GT steering wheel controller on PS3, and all currently available wheels on Xbox 360. Four game modes are on offer, including the original Arcade mode alongside new Survival, Time Trial and online multiplayer offerings. Online play supports up to eight players at once and features worldwide leaderboards.
For fans of the entertainingly brilliant/awful (delete as applicable) soundtrack, there's also a "Karaoke Mode" included which allows you to sing along with your favorite racing hits, should you happen to feel any desire to do that.
