Upside down steering wheel problem?
00 crown victoria
I ran over a traffic cone and it was stuck under the car for a few minnutes and then i now noticed the wheel is upside down when im going straight. I checked the suspension and there is no damage or bent stuff. The car goes straight and doesnt wallow. I was thinking if i just disconect the pitman arm from the center link maybe i can straighen it out.
Can you give specific steps on how to do this or any suggestions. I am a do it yourself guy. So im pretty good with cars.
Thanks
You'd best double check underneath something is bent. Turn strg. wheel from end to end counting turns then rotate back half and see where strg wheel sits, should be at center, Then look at frt wheels and see if both are straight ahead, if not and one is crooked , something is bent or possible adjuster sleeve for alignment pulled out or loose. Also pittman arm a pain to remove without puller and wouldn't fix problem end up more turn ratio on one sie and les on other. Get put up in air so can be seen better.
