Is the pitman arm hard to replace? And how do you do it?
you are adding an extra hour or so to the time by taking that steering box completely off, Plus it makes it hard to do the arm when the steering box is flopping around. Supertech gives great advice on this and deserves best answer for a good direct answer.
Mitchell calls for .6 tenths of an hour to do this.
.6 is without alignment

You will need a pitman arm puller. First you will need to remove the steering box from the vehicle or you will never get the Pitman arm off. I just closed Mitchell but I doubt it calls for more than an hour and a half labor to do the works. There is only three bolts holding the steering box to the frame, it's way easier to just unbolt it, I have done hundreds of these.

you do not need to remove the gearbox completely from the vehicle, detach pitman arm from center link, unbolt gear box, try to turn it sideways an put pitman arm puller on and remove arm. install new arm and bolt gearbox into place. attach center link and align then you are done.

I used a puller and only managed to chew up the end of the bolt. Also hit with a hammer and tried prying.
you use the wrong tool! use a fork tool(look like a fork) and a hammer to remove the pitman arm from the center link. fork tool cause about 15 dollars
