Pitman Arm seal kit - Pitman Arms


is there another name for a pitman arm seal?

i found a Power Steering Pump Shaft Seal Kit...is that the same thing as the pitman arm seal? can't seem to find it on autozone or csk or advance....
i am looking to replace the seal...but cant seem to find a pitman arm seal.

any other names it can go by?

If it is the seal for the shaft that the pitman arm is connected to right out of the power steering box, then it is the input shaft seal. You have to take off the pitman arm for access. If it is called the pump shaft seal, it is the seal on the power steering pump behind the pulley that the engine belt drives. The idler arm, btw, is on the opposite side of the car from your pitman arm, just in case you are confused by the fake answers above.

Pitman arm seals placemen/order?

chevy s10 Pittman arm seal was leaking. now im replacing the seals. what order do they going. the kit came with two rubber seals one single lip and the other with a dust shield. a metal washer and a retainer ring. what order does it go in. the old seals blew out while on the road or something..????

the order of the seals are not important, the flat washer is last and then the snap ring. The seals don't just blow out of the gearbox. They are still in there. the best way to get them out is to remove the arm, then the snap ring and then put the nut back on loosely by hand, fill the reservoir, start the engine and crank the wheel to one side all the way and give it some gas until they blow out. the pitman arm needs to be removed using a puller.
