Have you removed a pitman arm on a 123 Mercedes Steering box? ?
The two jaw puller I used fit perfectly (with a c clamp). It was a sturdy tool but eventually the claw part fractured off. The seal up shaft of the pitman arm is leaking, Do you know if this seal will stop the leak from pitman arm shaft? have the parts including new tie rod, seal, and ring clip $10, plus the 36mm socket $10 and ring clip tool set $25, have found a heavy Duty Pitman arm puller for $50, Do you think buy it and pull the arm to get to clip and seal, or quit now put steering back together and have Mercedes do the work? Thank you for your advice.
If the car is a third or fourth vehicle for you it makes sense to play around, but if you have to depend on it you should have a repair shop do the work (dealership or any other shop). That way they warranty the parts and labor, and you're not out there buying tools that you might only use once,,,,,,maybe two or three times if you don't get it fixed the first time.
