1992 ford f150 steering column?
I have a 1992 ford f150 2wd 300ci regular cab long bed. How to completly remove a steering column out of the truck and what tools do i need. I would have to leave the gear box on and maybe the pitman arm a pinch bolt broke in the steering coupler and i dont have enough clearence to drill out.
Would there be enough clearence to take all that out together
the steering column is fine. The steering coupling connects the gear box shaft to the column and the pinch bolt broke inside i dont have a good angle to drill it out so i was wondering if you could remove the gear box with the column so i could drill the bolt out on my work bench and not ruin the shaft the gear box is brand new so i dont want to cut anything
Go to a salvage yard and buy a complete column, make sure it;s compatible with the one you have, a few basis tools to bolt back in and a few connectors to plug in, should have plenty clearance to take out and install. This is really the easiest way and not so hard to do I just replaced a column in a similar one in a 1993 Ford Bronco.
