Having trouble removing pitman arm from the center like on my 2000 Chev Silverado. Any suggestions?

I used a puller and only managed to chew up the end of the bolt. Also hit with a hammer and tried prying.
you use the wrong tool! use a fork tool(look like a fork) and a hammer to remove the pitman arm from the center link. fork tool cause about 15 dollars

The pitmen arm is impacted onto the shaft. Go to Auto Zome and rent the PITMEN ARM PILLER. Theis tool slips between the arm and the shaft and will pull it off. (note) this tool requires a lot of force to turn the nut so be prepaired for that fact and it will take some force to get it off.

Idler arm and pitman arm change out?

I have a 2000 chevy silverado 4wd and the pitman arm and idler arm need to be replaced. I do have the knowledge of working on vehicles but have never attempted to replace these two items. Is it hard? Can it be done without special tools? Where on the net could I find info on changing these parts? Any help would be appriciated thanks in advance
Have to use puller to get it off,pitman arm is tapered and very tight fit.Idler arm can be out with a fork or puller.Easy if you know what you are doing.
